The Networks and Information Systems (NIS) Directive in the UK focuses on keeping critical infrastructure secure. The NIS directive is aimed at specific organizations that play a critical role within society with the services they provide. These include services such as electricity and water, freight and transport, healthcare & public sector. Their reliability and security are essential to everyday activities. Any disruption to the services they provide, comes great impact to society, the economy and potentially people’s welfare.

The NIS Directive aims to raise levels of the overall security and resilience of network and information systems across the EU and will
be enforced starting in May 2018.
