UK workers go mobile when hit by IT downtime

Hard-working Brits struck by IT downtime at work switch to using their personal mobile devices in order to carry on effectively, according to a recent poll by leading IT remote support solutions provider, Bomgar.

The survey found that half of the employees polled took the initiative to use their own mobile devices in order to continue with work tasks while IT support fixed the problem. However, 36 per cent still chose the traditional British way of dealing with a crisis by making themselves a nice cup of tea.

Nearly two thirds (61 per cent) of those questioned blamed application problems for their IT-related downtime,though 46 per cent pointed the finger at faulty technology. As if that wasn't bad enough, 36 per cent said they experienced personal downtime strife caused by faulty IT systems on a weekly basis.
