RIDGELAND, Miss. - Bomgar Corporation, the leading provider of appliance-based remote support software, today announced it closed another successful quarter, capping a record first half 2008. In addition to continuing year-over-year growth of more than 90 percent, Bomgar participated in a number of awareness programs highlighting strategic customers such as Novell, The Salvation Army, and MIT.

“Alongside the constant effort to reduce travel costs and optimize resources, economic and environmental pressures are driving enterprises to adopt telecommuting strategies at a record pace,” said Joel Bomgar, founder and CEO of Bomgar Corporation. “This trend is driving continued adoption of Bomgar in large organizations that are required to maintain a consistent level of help desk support for those employees while maximizing their own dispersed IT resources.”

“While telecommuting offers tremendous benefits to employees, most companies are still struggling with the back end issues of this type of program, such as ensuring secure remote access and meeting compliance regulations,” said John Ragsdale, vice president of technology research at SSPA. “Bomgar’s appliance-based delivery of remote support software enables organizations to easily support telecommuting initiatives, without sacrificing security or hindering regulatory compliance.”

Bomgar’s record growth was fueled by several achievements including:

  • Product Enhancements: Bomgar introduced version 10.1 of its appliance-based remote support software. The latest version of Bomgar software includes features designed to help organizations easily virtualize the people involved in IT support, enabling them to be more efficient and effective.
  • Industry Recognition: Bomgar’s outstanding growth and product vision were recognized by a number of industry outlets. The company was selected as a finalist for the Inc. 500 and Red Herring 100. Additionally, Bomgar version 10 was named a finalist for the Software CEO Innovation Award for its unique approach to resolving tech support challenges.
  • Market Validation: In April, Gartner analysts named Bomgar a “Cool Vendor” for 2008. This prestigious list highlights companies that offer technologies that are innovative, impactful and intriguing enough to have caught Gartner’s interest or curiosity in the past six months.
  • Company Leadership: Bomgar appointed Brad Prizer as Executive Vice President of Marketing to lead the company’s marketing and strategic alliances divisions as Bomgar continues its progressive growth worldwide. Prizer comes to Bomgar with more than 25 years of experience in managing marketing and sales organizations including Philips Electronics, Lucent, and most recently at SAS.
  • Global Expansion: Bomgar has increased its global presence through a key partnership with international reseller Connectology, an independent provider of IT and network services, located in Oxfordshire, UK. Under this agreement Bomgar will help companies located in the UK and throughout Europe grow their virtual IT support teams.
