Self-Signed Certificates – Basic Configuration Prior to Base 3.3.2

Easily apply a self-signed SSL certificate to all IP addresses on your Bomgar Appliance. SSL certificates help to ensure the security of your support sites.

Applying a self-signed SSL certificate to your Bomgar site assures your customers that you guarantee the security of your site. Manage your certificates from the Security page of the /appliance interface.

Basic Configuration

To easily apply one self-signed certificate to all of your Bomgar Appliance IP addresses, click the New Basic Configuration button.

First, enter your company name. Next, enter your Bomgar site hostname. This could be a fully qualified domain name, such as, or it could be a wildcard domain name, such as * A wildcard domain name covers multiple subdomains, such as,, and so forth.

Finally, click Create Temporary Self-Signed Certificate and Apply to All IPs. This will replace the SSL certificate for all configured IP addresses on your appliance. Note that the default configuration cannot be edited or removed.
