Transcript: Appliance NIC Management

Configure your Bomgar sites' IP addresses to meet your network configuration needs. From your /appliance interface, go to the Networking tab.

NIC Configuration

For each of your Bomgar Appliance's NICs, you can view detailed information, including MAC address, link speed and duplex, and details about receiving and transmitting communications.

To configure an IP address, click the Add New IP button. Select which network port to use, and then enter a valid IP address. Next, enter the appropriate subnet mask.

One option for access type allows only Web traffic, including access to the /login and /appliance administrative interfaces and the public site. Allowing only session traffic permits only sessions to be run via the representative console and the customer client or presentation client. Jumpoints, Jump Clients, and Bomgar Buttons will also function. The default and recommended option is to allow both types of traffic.

Click Save Changes to assign this IP address to your Bomgar Appliance. Your new IP will appear in the list of configured IPs. Click an IP address to view and edit its configuration.

Although the recommended MTU is 1500, you can change this unit per NIC.

Global Network Configuration

You also can configure network settings that will apply to your Bomgar Appliance as a whole.

Set the hostname to which this appliance's IP address responds. Enter the default gateway and one or more DNS servers.

If you select Fallback to OpenDNS Servers, your appliance will use publicly available DNS servers to keep your sites operational in the event that your configured DNS servers should be unreachable.

You can choose to have your appliance respond to pings, and you can set which NTP server to use to synchronize your system clock.

Port Number Settings

Under Port Number Settings, you can set custom server listen ports and default URL ports. Only advanced network administrators should attempt to change these settings.
