It’s Friday. And summer. We all need a break. So this: A tech support call with Ryan Gosling’s character from The Notebook. Enjoy.
"Uh, hi. I was trying to reach tech support? With whom am I speaking?"
I'm Noah Calhoun.
“I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life.”
"Uhhh, okay, well hopefully you can help me. My iPhone keeps freezing."
So it's not gonna be easy. It's going to be really hard; we're gonna have to work at this every day.
"Really? I was hoping I could get it fixed today. I submitted a ticket last week, but never got a response."
I wrote you 365 letters. I wrote you every day for a year.
"That’s weird. Do you mean emails? Why would you mail me a letter?"
What... do... you... want? Whaddaya want?
"Oh…well, I just want my iPhone to work. Or maybe I can just get a new one? Don't you have some replacement iPhones there you could send?"
Now you know that I want to give you all the things that you want, right? But I can't, because they're gone... They're broken.
"They’re all broken? That stinks. Maybe I don’t want an iPhone. Actually, one of your colleagues promised we’d be able to get Androids later this year, and I kind of had my heart set on it. Do you think I could get that instead?"
It's not about keeping your promises, and it's not about following your heart. It's about security.
"Yeah, I know Androids are more virus prone than iPhones. Okay."
We can just finish out the summer and see what happens then.
"The summer?! I can’t really deal with a broken phone all summer. My parents want me to come to their lake house next week, but my boss says I need to check email…"
Stop thinking about what everyone wants, stop thinking about what I want, what your parents want! What do *you* want Allie?
"I want a new iPhone!! And my name isn’t Allie."
I'm not usually like this, I'm sorry.
"It’s ok. So……I guess there really isn’t anything you can do to help me?"
Would you just stay with me?
Are there other iconic characters you'd like to see take a support call? Leave us your ideas in the comments below!
