Bomgar™ 9.1 Release:

The Next Revolution in Remote Support (Q&A)

Note: For easier reading, speakers' names have not been inserted in this question/answer section.

Q: Could you explain a little bit more about the reboot/reconnect feature - does this automatically reconnect when the remote computer restarts?

A: Yeah, we've had - actually some of our competition mentions reconnect as a feature and many of them they just mean that once the session gets back up and running after the reboot, it puts something in the start up folder so that it prompts the user whether or not they want to reenter the session. What we mean by it since out application runs as a system service is that the rep would get regain control right before the log in prompt. So assuming they have credentials to the PC they would be able to log in without the user's intervention and continue troubleshooting.

Extremely important, especially with like as an IT systems integrator where you're basically the outsourced IT department for a company. You can gain control of the PC, have the user go to lunch, go to a meeting, whatever it may be, troubleshoot several hours, reboot multiple times, fix the PC and leave it as is without having the users constant intervention to get you back control after each reboot.

Q: Can we still run admin access without logging out the user from the system?

A: Well it is going to show you the profile of whatever you're logged in as and it's only going to give you that one profile. So if for instance, if you gain control of the user's PC when he's running with user only rights and then you run as admin we have a feature that allows you to run our application as an administrator in order to have it install as a system service instead of merely as an application. At that point it would just be the profile of the administrator and not of the user.
