Bomgar B300™ Power Supply Field Replacement

The Bomgar B300™ has two hot-swap redundant power supplies. If either power supply fails, the other module will take over the full load, and the system will run without interruption.

The power supplies can be replaced without powering the system down or removing the Bomgar B300™ from its rack. In normal operation, the "Power Indicator" LED on the front panel is green, and the "Power Supply Status" LEDs on the back of the SA300 are also green for each power supply.

Case 1

If either of the two power supplies completely fails, the "Power Indicator" LED on the front panel will be yellow, and an alarm will sound until the power supply is replaced.

On the back of the failed unit, the "Power Supply Status" LED for the unit that has failed will either be off or yellow. This is the power supply to replace.

Case 2

If either of the two power supplies partially fails, the "Power Indicator" LED on the front panel is green and no alarm sounds.

On the back of the unit, the "Power Supply Status" LED for the unit that has partially failed is yellow. This is the power supply to replace.

Single Power Supply Failure Replacement Procedure

CAUTION

  • Be sure that the appliance is properly grounded to the chassis ground through the AC power cord or enclosure frame.
  • Touch a grounded metal object before removing a power supply module from the antistatic bag.
  1. Unplug the power cord from the failed power supply module.
  2. Depress the red locking tab on the top left of the power supply while holding on to the rounded handle.
  3. Pull the power supply module straight out.
Note: Ensure that the replacement power supply module is the same type as the one previously removed.
  4. Carefully push the replacement power supply module straight into the appliance until you hear the release tab click into place.
  5. Plug the AC power cord into the new power supply module. Verify that the "Power Supply Status" LEDs on the new module, both front and back, are now green.

Important

Before returning the defective power supply unit, locate the RMA Request form and follow the return instructions.
