Remote desktop access through the Bomgar B100™ can revolutionize how you service your clients. Its appliance-based architecture frees you from monthly fees and lowers your total cost of ownership for the remote desktop software solution.

Bomgar B100™ Setup Requirements

While the B100 is not a plug-and-play device, the setup process is fairly simple and straightforward. You can expect to spend about 15 minutes setting up the appliance. Please make sure you can meet the following requirements before purchasing or configuring your B100.

  1. A "home" for your B100 on your network
    • An available power outlet
    • A static (internal) IP on your network
You will also need to know the correct Subnet Mask, but if your computer is currently running on the same network the B100 will be on, you can get this from your computer's network properties

  2. A way for your B100 to connect to the Internet
    • A high-speed Internet connection
    • A router on your network to connect the B100 to the Internet
The IP address of the router will be your Default Gateway

  3. A way for your remote customers to connect to your B100
    • A valid DNS A-record (e.g. 'support.mycompany.com', not just 'mycompany.com')
      • If you have a static public IP (available from your ISP), you must register this DNS A-record with the Domain provider of your choice, but it must resolve to the public IP address.
      • If you don't have a public static IP, we suggest you obtain one – otherwise you can use a Dynamic DNS service.
      • Either way, you will need to supply an A-record to Bomgar™ at time of purchase
    • A path through your router from the internet to the B100
Usually this is done by putting the B100 in what's called the "DMZ"
