Bomgar Expands Enterprise Functionality in Version 10.5

June 15, 2010

RIDGELAND, Miss. Bomgar Corporation today announced the availability of the latest version of its secure, appliance-based remote support solution.  Bomgar version 10.5 delivers expanded capabilities, including application sharing for Mac computers, enhanced support for BlackBerry, and more extensive customization capability. Bomgar 10.5 equips companies with enterprise-grade functionality for delivering secure and efficient remote support to virtually any remote computing device, from attended or unattended computers and branch offices, to third parties or even mobile workers.

Bomgar’s secure, collaborative approach has made it the remote support solution of choice for leading global companies in diverse industries such as Novell, Central Michigan University, CSC, and Norton Healthcare.  Bomgar’s collaborative platform enables these companies to securely support any computer for on-demand troubleshooting, regardless of location, operating system or language.   According to Kenny Bunnell, director, global service operations, Novell, “Bomgar gets better with every release.  With version 10.5, a lot of the features that led us to purchase Bomgar in the first place have improved.”

“We know that meeting the needs of the enterprise requires depth, not just breadth,” said Nathan McNeill, vice president, product strategy, Bomgar.  “Version 10.5  amplifies many key Bomgar features and includes  additional capabilities based on customer feedback.”  Unlike other remote support offerings, Bomgar offers robust support for Mac and other non-Windows operating systems, enabling companies with extensive requirements to work on multiple platforms while maintaining high quality standards.   “Our University uses Macintosh computers quite heavily.  So we didn’t just need basic support for Mac, we needed a production-ready, full-featured Mac support product,” said Jeff McDowell, Help Desk Manager Central Michigan University.  “With 10.5, Bomgar continues to expand on their commitment to Mac support and platform neutrality.”

Bomgar is committed to delivering beyond customer expectations and demonstrates this commitment in  version 10.5.   For example, Norton Healthcare has found that demand for BlackBerry support is becoming much more prevalent.  “Our support desk is getting more BlackBerry incidents every day, so we asked Bomgar to enhance functionality for the support of BlackBerry issues,” said Mitch Bryant, enterprise support services manager, Norton Healthcare.  “I believe Bomgar 10.5 will help us raise support of mobile devices to the same level we support desktops.”
