Remote Access Software Gives SMB’s an EdgeRemote Access Software Gives SMB’s an Edge
Summary: Remote control software can help small businesses increase productivity, lower costs, and gain competitive edge
January 15, 2008Study by NFIB indicates small businesses are planning price hikes.Small business owners, faced with higher costs, weaker sales and concerns about inflation, are planning on raising selling prices, according to a recent study. Bomgar's remote access software could lower costs and enhance sales by enabling small businesses to mobilize their workforce and accommodate remote workers, and by reducing the cost of employee and customer technical support.
The study, published last week by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) revealed that, as of December, 26 percent of small business owners are planning a price hike - an increase from 21 percent in September. The study cited higher costs, weaker sales and worries about inflation as the major drivers for raising prices.
The study also revealed that the NFIB Index of Small-Business Optimism is lower than it's been since March 2003.
Enabling a remote and mobile workforce should be part of the overall strategy for businesses forced to raise their prices. In fact, according to a study published by Tech Republic, extending business applications to remote and mobile workers is viewed as critical to gaining and maintaining a competitive edge by 63 percent of IT and business professionals. Enabling access to real-time information, improving decision-making agility and increasing employee satisfaction enhances efficiency and productivity, according to the study.
Some businesses may view enabling a remote and mobile workforce as cost prohibitive, but the Tech Republic study also showed that 65 percent of businesses rate reducing costs as a significant or extremely significant reason to do so. Increasing workforce productivity and efficiency was rated as significant or extremely significant by 80%.
Thousands of businesses have chosen Bomgar's unique remote access software to service and support their remote workforce and customers. The unique licensing model of Bomgar's remote access software is predictable and, as it is based on number of concurrent reps using the application rather than on the number of remote computers being supported, is more cost effective than competitor solutions.
A Comparative Cost Analysis shows that the Bomgar BoxTM is more affordable than most other remote access software solutions, especially over the long run. Bomgar enables small businesses to take advantage of the opportunity for the business growth and reduced costs afforded by a remote and mobile workforce.
