Invite External Representative

Within a support session, a representative can request an external representative to participate in a session one time only. The inviting representative should click on the Share Session button and then select Invite External Representative.

A dialog will open asking the user to select a security profile. These profiles are created in the administrative interface and determine the level of permission the external representative will have. When you select a profile, the full description will display below.

Enter the representative’s name. This name will appear to the customer and in reports. Next, enter comments about why this representative has been invited. Click Create Key, and a new dialog containing the session key and direct URL will appear.

 

Rep Invite Key

Send the external representative to your public site to have him or her enter the session key. You also can copy and paste or email the direct URL to the external representative. The external representative will need to download and run the representative console installer, which is an abbreviated process from the full representative console installation.

The invited representative will have access only to the session tab and has a limited set of privileges. The invited representative can never be the session owner. If the inviting representative leaves the session without another session owner, the external representative will be logged out.

You can invite more than one external representative to a support session. Be aware that each external representative does allocate a Bomgar license.
